What is the Client Portal and Why is it Important?

The protection of your information gathered to prepare your tax returns is priority and of our upmost concern.
Throughout the accounting community we have been targeted due to the information we have. We realized this risk years ago long before it became a “top priority” by other firms and even our Government. With Sasha’s initial degree (B.S.) in cyber security and we have long ago implemented internal security policies and are continuously updating it as technology evolves. Our mission is to institute policies to prevent, deter, and detect suspicious attempts to attack our networks and we have implemented encryption methods to safeguard the exchange of sensitive information between source and destination. We do understand this is a significant inconvenience, however being a victim to identity theft has far more consequences than taking the time and effort to comply with our security policies and we thank you.

What is a client portal and secure file sharing?

Your client portal is web-accessible using your phone, tablet and computer, it even has an app you can download for iOS and android called Citrix Sharefile for your convenience. It’s used for file sharing and storage of your tax information, files and tax returns for easy year-round access. Don’t worry, only you have access to your information except us of course. You always have the correct version of all the files available for safe, secure access at any time.

How much time have you lost trying to find a document in an email, or asking for a copy of your old documents? This new feature we have have implemented is cost effective and saves your valuable time.

With a single point of access using the client portal, you always have access to your important files. For example, access to last previous year’s tax returns or documents you provided to prepare your return.

You can easily access the portal @ masri.sharefile.com using the credentials we have provided you. We have implemented this technology to prevent attaching documents to emails which is the most unsecured and easiest way of a hacker stealing your information. If you wish to have a space on our cloud and do not have credentials please email contact@masri.tax and request credentials to use the client portal.

How safe are online file sharing sites?

You can trust online file sharing services that utilize advanced encryption methods to store and send your files. To select a safe online file sharing site, look for one that protects documents with SSL/TLS encryption protocols and uses multi-factor authentication. If you need to share files and are in a regulated industry, choose a file sharing service that supports your particular compliance requirements, such as HIPAA or FINRA.

What does secure mean, how does it work? Here’s how –

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The ‘S’ at the end of HTTPS stands for ‘Secure’. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. Look in your browser’s address bar after you click any of the links above. We take it a step further by encrypting the data from your computer to our cloud where it remains encrypted until deletion.
